Potential Impact This solution will enable people with any form of disability, whether it be vision, mobility, auditory or neurological related, to shop the products themselves by assisting them to the identify the desired products, thus reducing the need to depend on another person or visit the store. The solution makes it easier for people with disabilities to shop cosmetic or skin care products online with recommendations made according to their looks or skin type. Users would also be able to identify best suited product to match a look and make the hassle-free payments for their purchases.

Implementation Our solution will provide an AI engine that will suggest the skin care or cosmetic products after analyzing the user’s skin or hair type. The suggestions will be based on a virtual user profile that user can create very easily by using the application. To create a user profile user needs to answer a few questions based on the skin or hair type (by using the voice commands) and upload his image for further analysis. The algorithm will suggest suitable products.

When it comes to cosmetics, there are a lot of looks that people like on social media platforms, but they are difficult to copy as the products are unknown. These looks can be easily copied by using our image-based search. Our solution will provide the capability to find the similar beauty products from ELC range of offerings, based on the image uploaded by user. Selected products can be bought easily by using payment apps that allow accessibility features. There are few payments app that allow screen reader access, our solution will use them to make the payments and screen reader will also allow the user to know the payment details for example, how much amount is deducted, time of payment and for which merchant, thus ensuring the safe payments.

Creativity & Originality Current product recommendations available in the market based on user’s shopping choices; our solution is enhancing the experience by making it more accessible for people with disabilities. Our solution will provide product recommendations based on the user’s skin type not just the user’s past shopping choices, hence making the recommendations more user specific. Our solution will also provide an image-based search and recommendation for beauty products, thus reducing the time and effort for finding the appropriate product. From product recommendation to product selection and making payments our solution will make online shopping more accessible to people with disabilities.

Presentation Idea has been presented, keeping in mind people with disabilities, so that they can select and buy skincare and cosmetics without any other help. They wouldn’t need to rely on store help or any acquaintance to select and buy the skin care that will suit their skin type or cosmetics that will suit their skin tone. By uploading any image, AI based search engine will also help the user find cosmetic products from ELC range of offerings.
