Inspiration

Some truths are better left unsaid. Some heat shouldn’t wait to cool.
This project began not with visuals, but with lyrics:

“If the world collapses in a sigh, please don’t ask me why.”
From there, we imagined a surreal curry stand tucked inside a broken-down sci-fi amusement park.
Spice, nostalgia, and absurdity became our ingredients. The end of the world just needed the right flavor.

What it does

GOLDEN CURRY UP is a short-form AI music video where emotional residue simmers in a retro-futuristic kitchen.
The setting: a lonely curry stall at the edge of an old amusement park.
The music: breakbeats with soft, melancholic lyrics.
The visuals: glitchy, cinematic, and weirdly tender.
We used food as metaphor, silence as seasoning, and AI as a second chef.

How we built it

All visuals were created entirely with Midjourney (v7) — characters, sets, textures, light. No stock. No footage.
Music was generated using SUNO AI, based on original lyrics and direction.
Audacity** was used for voice texture, lo-fi mastering, and noise layering.

• Final editing and pacing were crafted in DaVinci Resolve, frame by frame.

Everything was generated — and then slowly simmered into place.

Challenges we ran into

• AI loves chaos. We had to carve narrative from noise, emotion from style.
  
• Syncing abstract visuals to a rhythm-driven track took manual cut-mapping and beat analysis.
  
• AI-generated characters can feel empty — until the edit breathes life into them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Fully AI-generated visuals and music, with a strong emotional tone and visual coherence
  
• Lyrics and visuals mirror each other, creating metaphor through motion
  
• Successfully blended humor, heartbreak, and absurdity into a stylized 60-second experience
  
• Showcased what’s possible when AI is used not just for speed, but for sensory storytelling

What we learned

• Good lyrics can guide even the most chaotic AI tools
  
• Editing is where emotion lives — pacing is poetry
  
• AI is fast, but sincerity takes time

What's next

GOLDEN CURRY UP is part of our ongoing series, Vintage Sci-Fi Comedy — a collection of surreal shorts exploring nostalgia, collapse, and slightly ridiculous emotions.

We’ll continue creating new stories with this tone:
strange, cinematic, gently futuristic, and just a little too human.

This was just the first dish. The flavor lingers.
