Inspiration
We found inspiration from the recent news about MOH's AskJamie chat bot giving inaccurate advice. So we decided to make out chatbot that analyses fake news about Covid-19.
What it does
It's a telegram bot, which allows users to send a text message for evaluation. The bot will then reply "This is true!" or "This is false! My Ah Ma knows better" if it is fake news.
How we built it
We trained a naive Bayes model on two databases. We took the entire chat history from popular local chat group "Covid La Kopi" as fake news; and web-scraped the WHO advisories and Q&A as the accurate news.

A lot! Before today we had no experience with machine learning.

Actually making a minimally viable product.

Implementation of basic machine learning programmes. Web scraping. Creating a python chatbot on Telegram.
What's next for My Ah Ma Knows Better (MLDA Grp 20)
We can work to make the chatbot more accurate by analyzing larger databases.
