Inspiration
The idea of Mwajihi AI Secure comes from the real struggles students face after high school when choosing their academic and career paths. Many students feel lost due to the lack of clear guidance and reliable information.
As a student myself, I experienced this confusion, which inspired me to create a smart solution that simplifies decision-making using technology and AI, while ensuring data security and privacy.
What it does
Mwajihi AI Secure is a web platform that helps students choose the best academic path based on their grades, interests, and preferences.
The system analyzes user input and provides personalized recommendations for studies and careers. It also uses secure authentication (Auth0) to protect user data and ensure a safe experience.
How we built it
We built the platform using modern web technologies. The frontend was developed with React to create a responsive and user-friendly interface.
The backend was built using Laravel and PHP to handle data processing and logic. MySQL was used for database management.
We integrated Auth0 to implement secure authentication, allowing users to sign up and log in safely. The recommendation system is based on simple logic that analyzes student data and suggests suitable paths.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was integrating Auth0 authentication into the application and understanding how to manage user sessions securely.
Another challenge was designing a simple yet effective recommendation system that can provide useful guidance without being overly complex.
Time constraints during the hackathon also made it challenging to implement all desired features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of successfully building a working prototype that combines AI-based guidance with secure authentication.
Integrating Auth0 into the platform and creating a clean and simple user interface were major achievements.
We are also proud of addressing a real problem that affects many students.
What we learned
During this hackathon, we learned how to integrate third-party authentication systems like Auth0 into a real project.
We also improved our skills in full-stack development, teamwork, and time management under pressure.
Additionally, we learned how to turn an idea into a functional prototype within a short time.
What's next for Mwajihi AI Secure
In the future, we plan to enhance the AI system by using more advanced algorithms and real data to improve recommendation accuracy.
We also aim to add more features such as university comparisons, scholarship suggestions, and a mobile application.
Our long-term goal is to make Mwajihi a complete platform that supports students throughout their academic journey.
