Mustikka Bombo (Blueberry Bombo) is a small, curious, and lovable blueberry who explores Finland: its nature, landscapes, and culture. Inspired by the calm beauty of Finnish nature, the series offers gentle, slow-paced, and high-quality entertainment for children and families.
Created almost entirely by myself, from animation to sound and story, the project aims to challenge the fast tempo of typical children’s shows and bring a uniquely Finnish voice to children’s media.
After piloting the first few episodes, the style and quality are now beginning to take shape as animation tools, especially AI-based ones, have improved rapidly over the past year. I’m excited to see how Mustikka Bombo will continue to grow and evolve in the future.
Despite limited resources and the challenge of working alone, I’ve produced a full series that has been warmly received. The experience taught me that simple stories can be powerful, and that patience and creativity matter more than big budgets.
I’m now developing a short film and more educational episodes, with the goal of sharing Mustikka Bombo’s calm and curious world with children in Finland and, eventually, around the world.
