Inspiration
Build a functional web app (frontend and backend) where music artists can submit their profiles to available music gigs/opportunities and monitor their submissions. On the web app, each user should have a profile page also known as their Electronic Press Kit (EPK), a professional resume and business card that makes it easy for music industry professionals to access and review your work. This profile page/EPK should beautifully represent the music artists’ band pictures, videos, bios, social media, and streaming data showcasing their talent. The web app should collect and store data all across the ecosystem, including submissions and profile reviews. One artist should be able to comment and provide feedback to another artist’s profile/EPK. Focus on what you think is most important, and get as far as you can! The canvas is yours, and we are looking to see your imagination!
How we built it
- Build a customizable artist EPK (almost like a resume/LinkedIn page) with a strong focus on UI/UX and quality of life: it has to look visually appealing.
- Link social media and streaming data to the EPKs
- Create a feed of opportunities/gigs and a page for users to track their submissions
- Allow users to comment and create discussions on other people’s EPKs
- Collect data throughout this whole process
- (optional) Create a system that has advanced search and filtering options for profiles and opportunities/gigs
- (optional) Add automated notifications for submission status updates; integrate with additional data sources (e.g., Spotify, SoundCloud, etc.)
