Musical Hearts Strokes have affected a lot of my family members. This is a project close to my heart that will not just help my family, but benefit the larger community with FUN interactive 3D Gaming as part of their rehabilitation and recovery process. According to the World Health Organization, 15 million people suffer from strokes worldwide each year. Of these, 5 million die and another 5 million are permanently disabled. Stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States. Each year, approximately 795,000 people suffer a stroke. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States. On average, someone in the United States has a stroke every 40 seconds. Approximately 75% of patients who survive a stroke will struggle with motor function impairments that includes paralysis, weakness, and trouble with coordination, vision, memory and emotional stress. Physical therapy and rehabilitation is an important part of recovery.
Musical Hearts enables patients to play in the comfort of their home without seeming like it is real drag with ease and in a relaxing environment. It has mini-games that requires hand, eye and upper body coordination that motivates fun play. 3D Gaming is an engaging, interactive and fun positive way to recover at home. The data, analytics and reports of the patient’s performance will provide data to their doctors to measure and evaluate the actual patient’s progress and adjust treatment accordingly. Musical Hearts will reduce expenses, time travel and costless to the healthcare system.
