Inspiration
The inspiration was for this project are for those who want to change the mood that they're currently in whether they're having a hard time with school and wanna listen to more positive music.
What it does
This webapp goes through a logged-in user's Spotify account and creates new playlists based on the emotion highlighted by a song.
How we built it
Languages: JS and Python Libraries: React, text2emotion, Beautiful Soup APIs: Spotify Frameworks: Flask
Challenges we ran into
Two challenges we ran into were API integration due to our inexperience using APIs and combining front-end and backend together
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to put most of our ideas to life in this project and were able to work together despite meeting each other during this hackathon
What we learned
Time management is incredibly important. Time was wasted trying to train a ML model from scratch which crippled our development.
What's next for Music Project
Two big things we would like to implement
- Providing a more embedded experience by transforming this project into an AI assistant
- Creating new playlists on someone's Spotify account
