Inspiration

The idea came from the experiences that I've had as a self taught audio engineer, and how difficult it can be to learn how to use third-party plugins. I wanted to see if others felt the same way, and figure out what would make the experience of using one of these plugins better for everyone.

What it does

It's a design, so it doesn't actually function, but it's meant to be a visually optimized version of what an analog modeling plugin looks like, with the option to expand to a more comprehensive view of the EQ module.

How we built it

I used insights gathered from a survey, Fig Jam, and Figma to put together the design.

Challenges we ran into

Getting enough research to inform the design was my biggest challenge. It's a short time frame to get all the info I would ideally like to have.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think it looks pretty cool! The color scheme I used was influenced by the actual 1970s piece of hardware, and that in combination with more graphically simplistic design choices makes it look interesting in my opinion.

What we learned

The biggest thing that I learned was that I should get an engineer to work with me next time so that I can actually build a functioning product.

What's next for Music Production Plugin

More research, testing, building, iteration.
