Music Kite

Inspiration

Music Kite was inspired by years of experience as a live musician and music fan. I saw great artists struggling to reach audiences, venues fighting to fill events, festivals using disconnected tools, and communities missing out because everything was fragmented. I wanted to build one connected ecosystem that helps live music thrive.

What it does

Music Kite connects artists, venues, festivals, vendors and fans in one platform. It helps people discover live music, promote events, build communities and create better experiences for everyone involved.

How we built it

Music Kite was built using Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS and Vercel. AI played a huge role throughout development, with OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Claude helping accelerate coding, testing, documentation and design.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was building a platform that serves five different user types while keeping the experience simple, secure and scalable. Balancing rapid AI-assisted development with production-quality engineering required constant validation.

What we learned

AI is far more than a coding assistant—it can become a collaborative partner across engineering, design, testing and documentation. We also learned that human judgement remains essential to producing high-quality software.

What's next for Music Kite

We're expanding with native mobile apps, AI-powered discovery, interactive Festival Explorer experiences, richer Live Hubs and new features that help local music communities grow and thrive.
