Inspiration
This came as an offshoot from another idea, where we randomly generate a beat, but that proved to complex for our lack of musical knowledge
What it does
Each button represents whether their respective sound should be played when the slider reaches there. Different colors of button play the sound of their label on the left
How we built it
We used Repl.it for the IDE, and used the replit.audio modules for audio playback and replit-play for the graphics
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we ran into was sound playback, as when we tried to play multiple sounds simultaneously, they would play after each other. We eventually used the threading module to allow us to play the sounds at the same time
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a functioning project, and the previously stated threading solution
What we learned
We learned that using a web-based IDE with python graphics may not have been the best idea. Many of us also learned the basics of Python lists, looping, and classes
What's next for Music Generator
We're not sure at this point. Most likely an update to the main menu and graphics
