Inspiration

We were inspired to make a simplistic music system that relied on some sort of physical sensor - in this case, an accelerometer.

What it does

We decided to build a fun system that incorporates music with an accelerometer. The function of our design is to vary the pitch of a buzzer playing notes at a constant rate, by reading in an accelerometer output to the frequency of the buzzer pitch. In order to smoothly generate different acceleration values, we placed the system on a cart.

Challenges we ran into

It was all our first time doing a makeathon, so initially it was hard to setup the Raspberry Pi and test the functionality of the various sensors we had. Brainstorming various ideas was not a problem, however we quickly found out that 24 hours is not a lot of time to build something relatively complex!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to gain experience with circuitry involving Raspberry Pi and physical sensors. Additionally, we achieved the intended functionality of our design.
