Inspiration

I wanted a beautifully simple writing experience, inspired by Apple's minimalism; something clean, thoughtful, and made specifically for creative writers who love markdown.

What it does

Muse is an AI-powered markdown notepad that helps writers focus with a de-cluttered interface, while seamlessly integrating AI support from DeepSeek to enhance creativity.

How we built it

In just under an hour, I used a lean React frontend, hooked it up to DeepSeek AI model, and wrapped it in a minimal Electron shell to provide an intuitive desktop app.

Challenges we ran into

Handling AI model responses smoothly was tricky at first, but quickly overcame this with straightforward solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Delivering a functional, elegant, and genuinely helpful markdown editor with working AI integration in just one prompt felt pretty amazing.

What we learned

Rapid iteration can deliver impressive results. I saw firsthand how simplifying our goals allowed us to ship quickly without compromising quality.

What's next for Muse

Polishing the interface, refining the AI prompts, and potentially adding new free models to make Muse even more helpful and delightful for creative writers.
