Inspiration
Health and fitness are gaining an ever-increasing relevance in the field of technology. With the wave of health and workout trends, we want to target what this underdeveloped field lacks with our first hackathon project.
We wanted to create an app that records users' workout plans and tracks their progress in their muscle areas. This type of tracking has not been developed for public use. Thus, our project 'story' was inspired to record their body reformation 'story.'
What it does
This project tracks and analyzes detailed personal workout progress, such as rep targets for each muscle part, providing a progression graph and detailed feedback with a body heatmap illustrating the number of reps done for the user.
How we built it
With an avid dream and a newbie team, we first decided on the main functions of our project and the overall website design, and then we split groups into the backend and frontend.
Challenges we ran into
We are all beginners, but that wall did not stop us from pushing our limits and applying our skills. Every step of the way was a learning opportunity. We had to learn CSS and SQLite on the go to incorporate the elements we wanted on our webpage.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud to start building on a project that will have a great impact on the health and fitness community and the tech industry one day. As the proverb goes, "Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step." Our newcomer project is that first small step with great potential.
What we learned
All steps to creating this project have been a good lesson on setting up websites and the rigor a team needs to create a project. We needed teamwork to coordinate the work and planning of the project. One team focused on CSS and design, and the other focused on the backend with Python and SQLite.
What's next for Musclee
I believe our project has a lot of potential for improvement and expansion. Our project idea is modern and new. We believe it will inspire and optimize people's workouts and keep their fitness on track. Thus, we will continue to work on this project as a passion project.
