Inspiration
Murder mysteries hide the answer and let you guess. Sudoku never lies but never tells a story. Murdoria sits in the overlap: a whodunit you solve by pure deduction.
What it does
Each case gives you a floor plan, a cast of suspects and a page of statements that are all true. Place one suspect per row and one per column until a single arrangement survives. Whoever ends up alone with the victim is the culprit.
- Hundreds of cases across Easy, Medium and Hard, boards from 5 to 8 suspects
- Notes and crosses with auto elimination, a glossary that defines every clue type, hints, solve streaks
- Fully offline, English and Spanish
How we built it
React Native and Expo with TypeScript. A generator proposes cases and a solver proves each one solvable by logic alone before it reaches the casebook, so anything that needs a single guess is discarded. Difficulty tiers come from the reasoning techniques the solver actually needed, not from a guessed label. RevenueCat handles purchases and entitlements, AdMob shows interstitials only after a solved case and never in the tutorial, Mixpanel covers product analytics.
Challenges
Making difficulty honest, and keeping seventeen clue types unambiguous so "beside" never means two different things. Both were solved by instrumenting the solver rather than trusting intuition.
What's next
More volumes, a daily case, and more languages.
