Inspiration

Finding people to go to an event with, whilst our friends were busy / weren't interested

What it does

The App lists upcoming events from all over Munich. People select to go to these events and to be joined in a group of five to six people. They have then access to a built in chat function. MunichPulse also provides GPS locations of everyone in a group on a map and navigation. We collect data on anonymously. Based on peoples information where they wanna go, MVG can make better predictions for public transport utilization and adapt its schedules. Long term, movement data of the citizens can give feedback on public transport net.

How we built it

The frontend is build ai assisted with Junie and Gemini and ChatGPT in Kotlin and Kotlin Compose. The backend was build in firebase and Kotlin.

Challenges we ran into

We had to get GPS data from the Android phones and track it, import events from a JSON File into a firebase database. We put in a map with location data of the citizens.
