We were inspired to create Munera AI because we realized that, despite living close to each other as friends, it was easier to jump on a Discord call. It takes big events like hackathons or football games to bring the community together. While technology to build online communities has advanced massively over the past three decades, little innovation has come to making it easier to find in-person communities. The USC alumni association has an endowment of over $12 million dedicated to providing community for USC alumni, organizing football game watch parties from Singapore to London. We wanted to give a similar experience of a well-organized, loyal community to every fan and every community. Munera is the Latin word for "public work," and we think Munera would act as a public service to build community. We built Munera AI so every fan can have a super fan organizing watch parties for every game of their favorite team. We used LLaMA to match fans to their communities and then used Perplexity AI to create events and community moments based on fan data. Our product essentially works as an AI agent that searches the internet to find events via user query or on behalf of the user asynchronously. This is done by leveraging the natural language search of the Perplexity API and implementing a triage system that creates multiple prompts fine-tuned to the user query. An LLM-powered triage system for the scraped link content determines if it actually fits the user's profile and what they are looking to find. That way, instead of finding just sports events, it finds sports events for the teams you want and in your city. This can be done for any other type of event. We want Munera AI to monetize itself through matching fan user profiles to potential sponsors and advertisers of in-person events by incorporating Google Gemini to analyze fan data. Furthermore, we want to expand Munera AI beyond sports to other event and community topics, perhaps helping organize the next hackathon.
