Inspiration
Eating healthy is expensive. Getting a pizza and a drink can cost you $7 which is equivalent to a plain salad. The odds are not in your favor. Having a simple application able to help you plan your grocery trips and stay fit is priceless.
What it does
You input your dietary restrictions and goals and our application takes care of the rest.
How we built it
We used a MERN stack. We had 3 members working in tandem. One on the express/nodejs, one on the mongodb, and one working with react.
Challenges we ran into
We used a MERN stack.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We used a MERN stack.
What we learned
What we learned aligns with the challenges and accomplishments. Much of working on this application was gathering practical experiences. Learning OAuth2 with Kroger's API ended up being a little challenging since unlike Google the matter of connecting is more open ended. Communicating was another essential key as we had to rapidly develop. We did a fairly great job at programming our own sections independently with no major conflicts. Reading documentation and lots of it is something no programmer can get enough experience with.
What's next for Munchies - LA HACKS 2020
This application seems inevitable. With the popularity of health applications and the practical nature of this application we truly believe it's only a matter of time before an application like Munchies is created and adopted by thousands of people looking to maintain a healthy and flexible lifestyle without breaking the bank.
