Mumble

Inspiration

We were inspired by duolingo, except we try to focus specifically on kids learning to speak, and want to make a more playful experience for them.

What it does

Our app helps kids learn english through interactive speaking and listening activities.

How we built it

We used full stack frameworks Vite and React to make the web app, for the sound safari activity we used Whisper, we used Tesseract for the writing, and used SpeechSynthesis for audio.

Challenges we ran into

When we made the Sound Safari activity our voice recognition software wasn't working that well, causing it to be flawed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create the entire app within the time frame, and also expanded on our original idea.

What we learned

We learnt how to use AI tools wisely, and how to debug easily.

What's next for Mumble

We will add more sections like Math and Science
