General Track
Inspiration
As passionate game developers and strong believers of multiverse, we created this game with the goal of creating an imaginary multi-dimension universe that gives players the impression that they are actually in the multiverse and are experiencing the completely new universe within it.
What it does
In "Multiverse of Madness," player takes the role of a character tasked with escaping the multiverse by killing the invaders. As the character, player must navigate through each world and defeat enemies in order to win the game. To progress through the game, players must kill the aliens and unlock the portals to new worlds. Along the way, they will meet enemies from different universes, each with their unique abilities and strengths. One of the game's unique features is the ability to switch between universes seamlessly, allowing players to access new abilities. This feature also opens up new gameplay mechanics, such as time manipulation and reality warping, adding depth and variety to the game. We also made a controller using arduino that actually controls the player.
How we built it
Developing a game like this is difficult, it requires a skilled team of programmers, game designers, programmers and artist. The first step in creating any game is to develop the concept. This involves brainstorming ideas, researching the target audience, and creating a story that will engage players. The second step is game design. Once the concept is established, the game design phase begins. This involves creating a detailed plan for the game, including the mechanics, gameplay, and user interface. Programming - The next step is to develop the game's code. This includes writing the game engine, creating physics systems, and implementing artificial intelligence. Then finally we move to testing and quality assurance. Throughout the development process, the game must be tested to ensure that it is functioning correctly, and all bugs are fixed. This phase involves rigorous testing by a team of quality assurance specialists.
Challenges we ran into
We faced several difficulties, some of which included the game crashing just before we reached the halfway point. We put a lot of effort into learning new ideas and using them in the game. These were some of the difficulties we faced during the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are extremely relieved that the game was finally finished on schedule, with all the features we needed, and that we can actually that working on on bigger projects like Fortnite and PubG.
What we learned
Collaboration - One of the most important things that a team would learn is how to collaborate effectively. Creating a game like this would require a high level of coordination and communication between team members. Developing good teamwork skills and open lines of communication would be critical to success.
Technical Skills - Developing a game like this would require a deep understanding of programming, game engines, 3D modeling, animation, and sound design. The team members would need to have a broad range of technical skills and be willing to continually learn and improve.
Creative Problem-Solving - Developing a game like this would undoubtedly present many creative and technical challenges. The team members would need to be able to think outside the box and develop creative solutions to these challenges.
Attention to Detail - In a game like this, even the smallest details matter. The team members would need to be able to pay close attention to detail, ensuring that everything from the game mechanics to the art and sound is polished and perfect.
Understanding the Audience - The team would need to have a deep understanding of the target audience for the game. This would involve researching the audience, understanding their preferences, and ensuring that the game delivers a satisfying experience for that audience.
Project Management - Developing a game like this would be a complex project with many moving parts. The team would need to have strong project management skills to keep everything on track, ensuring that deadlines are met, and the game is delivered on time and within budget.
