Inspiration
"The limits of my language means the limits of my world." - Ludwig Wittgenstein. In a globalized economy, language shall no longer be a hindrance in business growth.
What it does
With an AI powered multi-lingual chatbot, users can now converse in any language of their choice with a chatbot or with an agent. The agent would be shown only the English version of the user's input.
How we built it
Artificial Intelligence is the engine under the hood. Google cloud platform's APIs(speech to text conversion API and dialog flow API) have been used. The dialog flow API helped us create a chatbot that constantly learns based on the user input. Angular was used for the front-end and Java, Spring was used for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the Google Cloud Platform APIs into our code has posed us a challenge since the bearer token keeps expiring every 60 mins.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
An AI powered chatbot was developed from the scratch in less than 24 hours. The chatbot has been fairly trained on the company(Axxess) profile. It would be able to assist the users with any queries related to the business.
What we learned
Keeping the customer experience at the center of our project, we learnt what it takes to launch a product that is at the frontline of customer interaction. Technically, our skills on API integration, Java, Spring, JavaScript, HTML, CSS have been polished.
What's next for Multilingual AI Chatbot for Axxess
The current stable version(1.0) of the Google's dialog flow API doesn't support auto-recognition of the language when an user uses microphone to converse. However, version 2.0(beta) would offer this ability. Hence, our project can be extended in the future to incorporate this feature thus, making the communication even more smoother.
