Key parts
Inspiration
According to “Effects of quarantine on mental health of populations affected by Covid-19.” published in the Journal of affective disorders, quarantine is evidently related to psychological damage, considering that individuals would be subjected to stressors for a longer period of time. Thus, we constructed that multi-functional app that intends to provide both informative and mental medical help
How it Works
Four (experimental) modules were created: a noncontact heart rate detector, a facial attribute analysis, a mental health booster, and a COVID module. This project was strictly written in python due since we are most familiar with python. Many complex python libraries were used such as openCV, dlib, numpy, kivy, and even tensorflow and keras for deep learning.
Accomplishments/Lessons learned
For both Collin(me) and Matthew, this was our first hackathon. In addition, this year was a bit different since it was virtual. We learned how to work efficiently and most importantly we gained a valuable skill: to be able to learn by ourselves. Thus, I would also like to thank the dozens of youtube tutorials and blog posts we viewed.
What's next for Multi-Function Health App to Combat COVID-19
Our project is and will always be a work in progress. Currently, it demonstrates the power of technology and very ambitious ideas and goals. If you have any suggestions or questions you can leave a comment on this google form: https://forms.gle/L57RfYNxXV2ZxXxJ6
