Inspiration

Starting university can be challenging, especially for first-year and international students adjusting to a new environment. Students may struggle to find transportation, study support, or even people to connect with.

We wanted to make campus life easier by bringing these everyday connections into one platform.

What It Does

Our project connects students through three main features:

🚗 Ride Connect

Students without transportation can request rides, while others can voluntarily offer rides. Our AI-powered backend helps identify compatible ride requests and offers, making it easier for students to find the right connection.

📚 Study Connect

Students can find study partners or groups, request help with difficult topics, and offer help in subjects they know well. Our AI model in the backend analyzes posts and helps match students with relevant study partners, groups, or help requests.

🍽️ Food Connect

Students can view dining menus before deciding where to eat and connect with others who want to share a meal.

What We Learned

We gained experience with teamwork, frontend/backend integration, AI integration, and designing features around real student needs. Building this project also showed us how AI can help create meaningful real-world connections between students.

What's Next

We plan to expand the platform by providing useful information about campus health centers, health insurance, and other university resources.

We also plan to integrate University SSO authentication so that only verified students can access the platform. Future versions will include content controls, blocking/reporting features, and restricted moderator access.

On the security side, we plan to implement secure cookies, security headers, and stronger authentication and authorization controls to better protect student accounts and data.

Our goal is to build a secure, trusted, and connected platform that makes campus life easier for every student.
