Inspiration
MTLC reached out to DeisHacks with the hope of rebuilding their website to improve member engagement. The goal was to ensure that companies remain as members of the MTLC association. My team and I were assigned to rebuild their member welcome kit.
What it does
The revamped member welcome kit supplies its potential and current members with a library of resources and MTLC specific services in an efficient and concise way. We’ve helped to provide a powerful starter kit to aid entrepreneurs and start-ups.
How we built it
We designed the website in a way that emphasized MTLC’s services in an organized manner. The website was developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript properties, as well as Google Sites, which provides an easy template to make a webpage.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges was to make the abundance of resources we are including more digestible to the user. To overcome this, we developed HTML components like hoverable buttons and PDF integration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of designing the website with three primary sections. The first is a membership overview provided by MTLC, which is a comprehensive slideshow that details the benefits of being a member. The second is an events page, which shows MTLC programs hosted throughout the year. The third major section is an even more in-depth list of resources for networking for different kinds of start-ups.
What we learned
We learned the value of meeting other people when it comes to getting a company’s name out there. MTLC provides its members with information on networking opportunities like conferences and workshops to help. This third page especially emphasizes the values of MTLC not just in helping start-ups, but also in helping companies that better society.
What's next for MTLC Hackathon 2024
In the future, we plan to compile resources specific to tech companies with diversity, equity, and inclusion and clean energy focuses. This will help to emphasize the values of MTLC in helping companies that better society. We also plan to make the website cleaner and streamline our interfaces.
