Inspiration

The inspiration for MSD.ai was to create a web-app that could help doctors and healthcare professionals consume and summarize the latest research articles quickly and efficiently. The app also serves as a one-stop platform for generating PowerPoint slides based on the uploaded research articles, making it easier for doctors to create presentations for their peers.

What it does

MSD.ai allows doctors and healthcare professionals to upload research articles, which the app then summarizes and extracts important graphs and data from. The app also features an in-app chatbot that can answer relevant questions based on previous uploads of articles. Additionally, MSD.ai pulls the most recent significant healthcare developments and displays them as a carousel for healthcare professionals to interact with.

How we built it

MSD.ai was built using a combination of Flask for the server and React.js for the front-end. We used Flask to handle the back-end functionality, including the logic for summarizing research articles, generating PowerPoint slides, and managing the chatbot. We used React.js to create the web app's user interface and make it easy for healthcare professionals to interact with the app's various features.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced while building MSD.ai was figuring outto extract, summarise and present the information given that every article is different. We also had to ensure that the app was secure and that the data uploaded by healthcare professionals was kept confidential. Finally, we had to make sure that the app was user-friendly and that healthcare professionals could easily navigate its various features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the fact that we were able to build a web-app that could help healthcare professionals consume and summarize the latest research articles quickly and efficiently. We're also proud of the fact that we were able to create a chatbot that could answer relevant questions based on previous uploads of articles. Finally, we're proud of the fact that we were able to create a user-friendly interface that healthcare professionals could easily navigate.

What we learned

While building MSD.ai, we learned a lot about summarizing research articles automatically, generating PowerPoint slides, and managing chatbots. Finally, we learned about the importance of creating a user-friendly interface that healthcare professionals could easily navigate.

What's next for MSD.ai

In the future, we plan to continue developing MSD.ai to make it even more useful for healthcare professionals. We plan to add more features, such as the ability to search for research articles based on keywords, and to improve the app's summarization capabilities. We also plan to explore ways to make the app even more secure and to ensure that it complies with all relevant healthcare regulations.
