Inspiration

Small business owners in Kazakhstan often lack access to professional consultants for marketing, finance, and strategy. We wanted to bridge this gap using AI — making expert-level advice accessible to anyone running a small shop or service.

What it does

MSB Help is an AI-powered web platform for SME owners. It includes:

• An AI chatbot that answers questions about marketing, finance, and business development
• An Excel data analysis module that generates automated insights from uploaded business data
• Practical recommendations tailored to small businesses in Kazakhstan

How we built it

We built MSB Help using React.js for the frontend, Node.js and MongoDB for the backend, and integrated Claude API and LLaMA 3.3 70B for the AI features. The platform was tested and deployed with real SME partners.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was low digital literacy among small business owners — we had to design an interface simple enough for non-technical users while keeping the AI capabilities powerful.

What we learned

AI adoption in SMEs is less about technology and more about trust and simplicity. Real impact comes from solving specific, concrete problems.

What's next

Expanding to more SMEs across Kazakhstan and adding Kazakh language support.
