Inspiration
We got the inspiration to develop this Mixed Reality Battle Tank experience from the childhood arcade game that we all have played, Tanks.
What it does
In this experience, players have the option to switch to Battle Tank View in Mixed Reality 3D mode and 2D mode from an orthographic camera so that player can experience it in both the Mixed Reality and arcade styles.
Story of the game is somewhat like this:- Game world is set in a futuristic version of Mars in the year 2036 but Augmented into the Real-world in 2024
As a battle tank soldier with the sole remaining Battle Tank you need to defeat the Enemy Spaceships from a different Alien planet to save your people on Mars....
How we built it
Built it using Meta's Presence Platform SDKs like Interaction SDK, Passthrough API and Unity Engine.
Challenges we ran into
We have previously developed Mixed Reality/Virtual Reality experiences using Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit and haven't used Oculus Integration or Presence Platform SDKs before. But the tutorials and documentation provided was quite useful in understanding various aspects of Presence Platform SDKs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have developed a prototype till now, we won't stop developing this after the hackathon submission, we will continue to work on this and once fully developed, will be submitting and releasing on Meta's Applab.

What's next for MR Tank Battles
We will be completing all the remaining features, add a Multiplayer mode using our own custom Multiplayer networking plugin and once fully developed will be submitting it on AppLab.
