Mr. Inspecteur

Inspiration

Mr. Inspecteur was inspired by a simple observation: property inspections in Morocco are still managed almost entirely with paper forms, WhatsApp photos, Excel sheets, and manually written reports. This process is slow, inconsistent, and difficult to scale.

At the same time, Morocco is experiencing a major construction boom driven by large infrastructure projects and preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. In December 2024, new construction insurance regulations also increased the need for structured inspection documentation and traceability.

We saw an opportunity to build the first dedicated digital property inspection platform for Morocco and the broader MENA region.

What it does

Mr. Inspecteur is a multi-role SaaS platform designed for:

• Independent inspectors
• Inspection companies
• Property buyers and tenants
• Platform administrators

The platform enables inspectors to perform room-by-room inspections, attach photos, identify defects, estimate repair costs, and generate professional PDF reports in a few clicks.

Clients receive a secure magic link that gives instant access to their inspection reports without requiring account creation or passwords.

Companies can manage teams, inspectors, inspections, and subscriptions from a centralized dashboard.

How we built it

The application combines modern cloud infrastructure with rapid frontend development:

Challenges we faced

One of the biggest challenges was designing a workflow flexible enough to support multiple user roles while keeping the user experience simple.

Another challenge was modeling inspection data in a structured way. Real inspections contain rooms, categories, observations, defects, photos, recommendations, and cost estimates, all of which need to be connected and reportable.

Building a secure magic-link client portal also required careful consideration of usability and security. We wanted clients to access reports instantly without the friction of creating accounts or remembering passwords.

Finally, creating mobile-friendly inspection workflows was critical because inspectors spend most of their time on-site using phones and tablets rather than desktop computers.

What we learned

Through this project, we gained valuable experience in:

• Designing multi-tenant SaaS architectures
• Building role-based access control systems
• Integrating AWS cloud services
• Managing large collections of photos and generated documents
• Rapid UI prototyping with Vercel v0
• Creating mobile-first workflows for field operations

We also learned the importance of deeply understanding local market needs. Many global inspection tools are designed for mature markets, while Morocco and the MENA region have unique operational, language, and regulatory requirements.

What's next

Our goal is to launch the MVP and onboard the first inspection professionals in Morocco.

Future roadmap items include:

• AI-assisted defect detection from inspection photos
• Automated repair cost estimation
• Voice-to-text inspection notes
• Advanced analytics dashboards
• Insurance and construction company integrations
• Expansion across the MENA region

Mr. Inspecteur aims to become the digital standard for property inspections in a market that is still largely underserved by modern software solutions.
