Inspiration
MR Clean was born from a simple idea: bringing satisfying powerwashing mechanics to mixed reality.
While working on BLUD, I always wanted players to wash away the unicorn chaos. But its age rating meant many players wouldn’t get to experience them.
So instead, I turned that idea into its own family-friendly standalone game — a playful, mixed-reality powerwashing experience for everyone.
What it does
“Mixed Reality + Hand Tracking + Scene understanding”
It’s dangerous to go alone, take this: a brand-new pair of MR Clean gloves!
These awesome gloves feature power washing hoses at your fingertips, perfect for what’s coming…
Roomscale Cleaning: Discover your own room covered in dirt/mud/paint… now it’s time to clean it. Make it shine!
Roomscale Party mode (2 players, 1 headset): Player 1 dirties up the room, then Player 2 tries to clean as much as possible… until it’s time for revenge!
Virtual objects cleaning: compatible with the headset’s Travel Mode, spawn a dirty virtual object in front of you, grab and rotate it, resize it, and… clean it! At launch, more virtual objects will be made available. Perfect for quick fun on the train, or on your couch when you don’t feel like standing and cleaning the whole room.
How we built it
This new game is built upon the studio’s MR Framework foundation made for Smash Drums’ MR mode, including the famous “paint” environment.
Challenges we ran into
Rooms come in all sizes and shapes, and scanned furniture can come in the way of a cleaning game!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Transposing the cleaning formula into a handtracking MR game, with cleaning mechanics and a dynamic water drying system, all of this running smoothly @72fps
What's next for MR Clean
