Moyu (摸鱼) - The AI-Powered Productivity Shield
Tagline
"Master the art of looking busy."
The Problem
In an era of always-on remote work and surveillance capitalism, "burnout" is the default state. Workers are pressured to be constantly green on Slack, constantly committing code, and constantly "productive"—even when their brains need a break. The result? Performative work that helps no one and hurts everyone.
The Solution
Moyu (Chinese for "fishing" or slacking off) is a macOS menu bar app designed to reclaim your time. It provides a suite of tools to protect your mental health by helping you take guilt-free breaks while maintaining the appearance of peak productivity.
Built with Electron and React, Moyu is your digital accomplice.
Key Features
🛡️ The Shield
- Fake Update (
/fake-update): Instantly trigger a realistic "System Updating" screen to block colleagues or managers from seeing your screen. "Sorry, my Mac is updating!" - Fake Coding (
/fake-coding): A high-fidelity code editor that types itself. It looks like you're writing complex React/TypeScript code, but you're actually just sipping coffee. - Tide Warning: A discreet alert system to warn you when "danger" (a manager) is approaching or when it's safe to return to "work."
💰 Value Tracking
- Money Counter: Input your hourly wage and watch a real-time counter of how much you've "earned" while slacking off. Gamify your break time!
- Paid Poop Tracker: Because if you're good at something, never do it for free. Track your bathroom breaks and calculate their financial value.
🌊 The Oasis
- Fish Pond (Forest-style Gamification): A relaxing virtual aquarium that grows while you take a break.
- Ecological Theme: Beautiful "Sea & Ocean" UI design with fluid animations and soothing visuals.
Powered by Gemini (Hackathon Vision)
We are integrating Google Gemini to take "slacking" to the next level:
- Context-Aware Fake Code: Instead of static snippets, Gemini analyzes your current project's file structure to generate relevant, compiling code in real-time. It looks so real, you might actually use it later.
- Smart Excuse Generator: "Why is this ticket late?" Gemini analyzes your git history and Jira tickets to generate technically accurate, unfalsifiable excuses (e.g., "Unexpected dependency conflict in the
node_modulesgenerated by the upgrade"). - Sentiment Sentinel: Analyze public Slack channels to detect "manager stress levels" and suggest the safest times to take a break.
Why Moyu?
Because productivity isn't about how many hours you work—it's about how sustainable your work is. Moyu brings joy, humor, and a little bit of rebellion back to the workplace.
