Inspiration
My inspiration for MovieMind AI stems from my deep love for films and the engaging world of movie reviewers, particularly those like PJ Explained, Badal, and Super Super Super. Their unique perspectives and detailed analysis sparked the idea of creating an AI-powered tool that could similarly delve into film reviews.
What it does
MovieMind AI is an AI-powered application that functions as both a movie reviewer and a movie recommender. It leverages artificial intelligence to provide insights and suggestions, helping users explore and discover films.
How we built it
The frontend of MovieMind AI was developed using React with TypeScript, providing a robust and scalable user interface. For the backend and core AI functionalities, we integrated powerful tools such as Google Gemini for AI capabilities, ElevenLabs for advanced text-to-speech features, and Supabase for database management and backend services.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of MovieMind AI, we encountered several challenges. These included figuring out additional features to enhance the app's functionality, addressing various debugging issues, and overcoming other unforeseen technical hurdles that typically arise in project development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One of the most significant accomplishments we're proud of is creating a fully functional AI movie reviewer from scratch. Seeing the core review generation system working as intended was a major milestone.
What we learned
Through this project, I gained valuable hands-on experience and deeper knowledge of new technologies, particularly ElevenLabs for generating realistic audio from text and integrating its capabilities, as well as Tavas for its specific functionalities within the AI ecosystem.
What's next for MovieMind AI
Yes, I have many future plans for MovieMind AI. I envision adding more features, refining its AI capabilities, and continuously improving the user experience to make it an even more comprehensive and insightful movie companion.
