Inspiration
I was inspired by moments when people just can't decide what movie to pick and spend a long time searching for a good movie instead of watching one.
What it does
This program uses python and API's to search the web and a curated list of movies to give two personalized movie recommendations based on the users mood or what genre of movie they want to watch.
How we built it
We searched for way we could search the web and use API keys to get movies as well as there genre, and then we used python and some libraries to sort and call different movies from the databases based on user input.
Challenges we ran into
It was hard to sort the database movies into groups that would make it easy for the program to select one based on specifications.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of accomplishing a personalized movie recommender.
What we learned
We learned how to search the web and API's
What's next for Movie Recommendation Generator
We will probably make it so it can have more specifications and more precise movie recommendations as well as movie descriptions. We are also planning to make it into a fully functioning website.
