Inspiration

The members of the team have met during a women leadership program in Hungary. Four participants with different leadership experience in private public, youth advocacy and academic sector have decided to take part in the challenge with an innovative idea. We state that the sport itself is not a luxury product. Neither the global sport events, they are for everyone, and we need to make it reachable and affordable to all the homes and all inhabitants of Planet Earth. Many athletes remain home because of the current pandemic situation as ordinary EU citizens do so. The Olympic Games 2020 had been postponed and many olympians did not have an exit plan from their professional athlete carrier, in the last couple of years they were preparing themselves for their last Olympics. We are living a world of challenges and doubts. Role models could incourage people stuck home to not forget about mental and physical health.

What it does-the problem our project solves

Due to the crisis many of the people working in the sport sector (personal trainers, athletes) lost their jobs or had to postpone competitions.European citizens are in home isolation not to spread coronavirus, and their mental and physical health is more important than ever in these circumstances. On one hand, the project will relieve EU citizens' stress and anxiety in self-isolation caused COVID-19, set an example by supporting a healthy lifestyle in quarantine, and on the other hand helps senior athletes to get in touch with the business sector at the end of their athletic careers. Based on these two core values, the project introduces a completely new economic model along social values that can be exemplary in sectors other than sport too. The project will eradicate amateur athletes with low self-confidence, allowing them to start a whole new life online regardless of age and previous sport activities. The project has a real impact on the current crisis. With this tool we could tie back to activity the elderly players of a sport as well. They could share their experiences and memories from their career even if it is a memory from an important championship or they way how they managed the daily motivational tasks. Nowadays active players can also benefit from a connection with another player from another age, from another country or from another sport sector. For example how they managed to keep their training during WW2. With movEU2020 we can open up the closed borders of the EU. We can build up new social connections, and connect stakeholders and players of all sectors which have never met before in the online world. The project is based on experience and value transfer.

How we built it

We have started to bring some ideas, then the team decided which would fit the most of our capabilities. After having created the swot analyses we have created social media platforms and design materials for the new business. Following the hack plan introduced in the participant info voucher we had several project meetings via skype and we managed to have 24 hours availability for changing ideas via chat. We have distributed the phases and the duties in project planning between the team members. We created several social media posts to encourage others to connect and to be part of the challenge, in the meantime we have also connected channels in slack. We used photoshop, canva, aftereffects, google site, github, slack, meets, canvaizer. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10216654033289616&set=a.1029124174726&type=3&theater&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic&notif_id=1587890097800457 https://www.instagram.com/moveu2020/?hl=hu https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6660094469079080960/ https://twitter.com/ViktoriaLPato/status/1254337583749967872/photo/1

Challenges we ran into

We did not really had the IT and digital knowledge to run certain programs and create website, to connect others also meant a challenge since everybody was dealing with their own ideas. Although having problem with financial and management planning, having done some researches we managed to create certain ideas.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of to have a clear idea and vision for a new business model which may change European citizens’ lives for a healthier and happier future.

What we learned

The challenge opened the eyes of team members to discover new opportunities beyond their own boundaries, and realised that now the time had come to develop what had been postponed in the past regarding personal skills. We haven’t had enough IT skills for pitch video and website editing so far, but now we’ve started to learn programming. The tools recommended by the challenge had opened a new horizon of dogotal system for us. The potential and development areas of personal social media interfaces came to the fore as a result of the project, so we have not only created the movEU2020 interfaces, but improved our personal interfaces as well. To create the financial plan we did not have any knowledge yet, but thanks to the challenge we read a lot about it, however at the end we finalised our first financial plan in our lives. The teamwork helped us recognize in each other and within ourselves abilities and skills that had been hidden so far.

What's next for movEU2020

We have short -medium and long term plans. As a short term plan we are developing the website (buying domain as well): https://sites.google.com/view/moveu/about-us?authuser=0 and trying to contact mobile app creators. In the future we are willing to establish a system in which users can still stay a customer of ours after the crisis and use our app and training videos when they are on a business trip for example and want to stay connected with their work out team members. We are creating a sponsorship area with private sector stakeholders to get financial support for the online trainings. This is also a part of our employer branding strategy. We also will convince high performing athletes to become team members of your company.
