Inspiration

In June 2026, Singapore officially became a super-aged society. Our population is ageing, with an estimated 1 in 4 Singaporeans reaching the 65-year-old threshold by 2035. Quality mobility infrastructure to support graceful ageing is therefore becoming increasingly important, extending beyond buses and the MRT.

Studies have even shown that pedestrian-friendly neighbourhoods encourage social participation and community engagement. The increasing trend of social isolation among the elderly shows that this is an issue that cannot be ignored.

Both of these factors formed the basis of our motivation for our project, which aims to enable smarter, data-driven decision-making that will best support our ageing population.

What it does

Our edition of MoveEasy aims to score every planning area on how far its seniors live from the nearest AAC, polyclinic and cycling path, identifying and ranking access gaps where large elderly populations meet poor access.

Through this ranking, smarter "what-if" simulations can be executed to ensure mobility infrastructure improvement plans are focused in the neighbourhoods that need it the most.

Architecture

We plan to fully utilise DataBricks' comprehensive features to build our solution from start to end.
