Try it out! (Actual Website)

We have developed I Like to Move it Move it to leverage the use of Google Maps for a sustainable peer-to-peer transportation app. Users can receive Green points for contributing to their communities by sharing bikes, skateboards, scooters, and even umbrellas for the rainy days!

People often have bikes, scooters, or skateboards (or even umbrellas) in their houses that they don't even use. Now tell me: what if you could help the planet by helping others and still earn some extra money? I Like to Move It Move It's diligent team is inspired to make people move faster, smarter, and in a more sustainable way.

What it does

I Like to Move It Move It is all about smart mobility and sustainability for a better future! It allows people to share their bikes, scooters, skateboards, and even umbrellas, for their communities in exchange for Green Points that can be exchanged for R.E.A.L money and rewards!

How I built it

Backend: Google App Engine, Google Firebase, Google Datastore, Google Maps, Python-flask. Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Bootstrap, and Patience.

Challenges I ran into

2 Backend computer guys coding on the frontend... Our main challenges were creating a reasonable UI (including our own exclusive and responsive navigation bars and tables), adding custom icons, and customizing the whole website with CSS and Bootstrap.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Definitely seeing the whole project as sleek as it can: the website's responsiveness and how effectively we managed to connect the different technological components that it required. We are very proud to be part of this project :)

What I learned

Projects like this teach resilience and patience. As we have said above, front end (and website development) in general is not our main forte, but we were awesome... We had the desire to learn more about other technologies and get out of our comfort zone.

What's next for I Like to Move It Move It

I Like to Move It Move It will expand worldwide. Our main goal is to have 1,000,000 bikes, scooters, skateboards, and umbrellas shared until the end of 2020. It's all about the legacy that we live for a sustainable smart-moving future. Move it move it with us!
