In recent times, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others have become ever-present in our lives. While these platforms offer the opportunity to connect with others and share our thoughts and experiences, they have also been linked to a concerning surge in the prevalence of depression among individuals. Several studies have shown that excessive social media use can lead to feelings of social isolation, low self-esteem, and a distorted sense of reality. The constant comparison to others, the pressure to present a perfect image, and the fear of missing out can all contribute to this phenomenon. As a result, individuals may experience symptoms of depression such as sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of motivation. We must recognize the potential negative effects of social media and take steps to use these platforms in a healthy and balanced way.
What it does
In the pursuit of safeguarding our future and preserving the well-being of generations to come by leveraging Chat GPT and our AI coding expertise, we embarked on a groundbreaking project to develop a motivational bot. How it works is that the algorithm analyzes the provided image to recognize a human face and detect the facial expression
How we built it
This is done with the help of the facial_emotion_recognition Python packages, allowing us for faster results. After this process, we use the ChatGPT API, specifically the GPT-3.5-Turbo model, to prompt emotional feedback depending on the emotion recognized. In other words, this is a therapy session but with a trained AI model that can adjust its feedback based on your emotions.

Despite facing multiple challenges during the AI bot training, we were able to overcome them with our collective efforts and teamwork.
