My inspiration was the memory game that was created through one of the workshops. I thought instead of making the player move with buttons why not make him move with the mouse.
What it does
Using your mouse you move a car that is trying to avoid obstacles on a highway.
How we built it
I built the game using qoom with the three major languages of html, js and css.
Challenges we ran into
I could not figure out how to move the obstacles so that the player can avoid them or for the obstacles to detect collisions against the player.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I was able to figure out the mechanic of making the player object follow the mouse because it took awhile and a lot of play testing to get it to work. Even if my game is not fully functional, trying to build has taught me a lot of computer science and just learning is a plus for me.
What we learned
One of the most important things that I learned whilst making this game is that there is a lot that goes into making games, even for the really simple ones. However, I did learn a lot of technical skills like incorporating qoom, html, js and css better in order to become a better web developer and make better websites.
What's next for MouseCar Game
The game will have collisions, a score, a leaderboard and it will also be never ending so the player will continue to play until they crash into an obstacle.
