Inspiration
I was inspired by the global game jam theme 'home'. This game is a deep exploration of what home means to me, and it has been an emotional 24 hours building this.
What it does
It is a game where you collect cheese
How I built it
It's all built in the javascript canvas, with levels created using tiled.
Challenges I ran into
We started out doing a fitbit project, but the darned thing didn't work. I do not like fitbit. Then we switched to pygame, and then cocos2d. Both of these libraries suck. We finally decided on js and never looked back - except of course during the grueling sections where we debugged the collision detection.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I did good art and good programming and I also won the !Light challenge
What I learned
I learned about tiled editor (great software) and a bunch more stuff about javascript and friends.
What's next for Mouse in the House
Mouse in the House HD remake for the Xbox Two
Built With
- javascript
- photoshop
- tiled
