wyMotiv.tech: What's your motive?

Inspiration

As sports enthusiasts, we recognized a fundamental issue in the world of college and highschool sports – the lack of a unifying digital platform that could bring teams, athletes, and parents together. Existing solutions often fell short in fostering team synergy and offering the adaptability required to meet the unique needs of sports communities. Feeling out of touch and disconnected, we decided to embark on a journey to create a revolutionary solution, and that's how wyMotiv.tech was born.

What it Does

wyMotiv.tech is not just an app; it's a sports community reimagined. Our platform encourages the question "What's Your Motive?". It provides a versatile space where users can connect, collaborate, and create content productively, combining the best aspects of apps like LinkedIn and TikTok.

How We Built It

Our project is driven by a vision to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience. We worked toward this by using Swift for the front-end development, creating an intuitive and engaging interface that's accessible via iPhone. On the back end, we harnessed the capabilities of MongoDB to store and manage data securely. Bridging the technical aspects was a Python middleman function, ensuring that communication between the app and the database remained seamless and efficient.

Challenges We Faced and Accomplishments that We're Proud Of

One of our significant challenges was integrating Auth0 with MongoDB, we couldn't establish that connection. On the other hand, we take pride in our ability to quickly grasp Swift and MongoDB.

What We Learned

We gained valuable insights into manipulating databases with Python, and we deepened our understanding of algorithms and recommendation systems.

What's Next for wyMotiv.tech

We plan to integrate AI to provide even more personalized information and recommendations, creating a richer user experience. Additionally, we aim to fully build out the front end for both iPhone and Android.
