FIRST HACKATHON reflections

What a fun weekend.... we learned so much and for some of us first-time Python users, it was so fun to see what programs and libraries are available.

Challenges

We ran into some issues with installing MediaPipe on our devices since we realized there were different versions for MacOS and Windows. However, with some quick googling, we figured it out!

Future Directions

If we had more time, we would add more hand gestures (zoom-in, zoom-out, shut down) and implement more interactive perspectives between user and computer. We could meander into accessibility territory with text-to-speech and typing (ASL-to-text). This could potentially be a tool for individuals with disabilities.
