How we built it

Using PostgreSQL databases for vectorization and secure storage, python/flask as the backend to manage the data and interface with the database, and svelte/js as the front end for the web-based application, myself (Chris) and our other developer (Elise) collaborated to both find the vision for the project and bring as much of said vision to life in the time allotted.

Challenges we ran into

Interfacing the web application with the API and ingesting the data into the PostgreSQL database were quite challenging. We wanted to train a CNN neural network for image detection of varraomite infected bees, but ran into time constraints. Similarly, we wanted to create heat maps for the infected populations, however ran out of time.
