Inspiration
The original vision of Satoshi Nakamoto is for cryptocurrency to become cash. Electronic cash. With over 4 billion people lacking access to the underlying technology including smart phones and internet as well being disabled or in remote areas. Utility of cryptocurrency as cash is significantly hindered. Being from a part of the world that is relatively significantly handicapped technologically, I looked to a solution that would be feasible and unstoppable for addressing the gaps.
What it does
Mode of Transfer Alternative (MoTA) is a service that leverages the skills and resources of those already equipped to use cryptocurrency to facilitate transactions for non-technical, under-served and disabled persons.
The core MoTA solution is a web-based software platform that allows MoTA Transmitters (MTs) to facilitate on-ramping and off-ramping as well as global cryptocurrency transfers between non-technical persons. Practically any wallet user can sign up to be an MT.
How we built it
An javascript and sql application that has technical specifications outline but pending build. It is a mobile friendly and light-weight non-custodial application MTs can use to interact and monitor exchanges.
Challenges we ran into
Access to devs to deploy MVP
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Technical specs, whitepaper, live website, active community, BCH dev support and interest.
What we learned
Constrains can be overcome if we persist.
