Inspiration
I was inspired by my dad, who teaches a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class every year. I've heard the stories of people drowning n debt, so I wanted to provide a resource to help.
What it does
The Mortgage Affordability Calculator does just that - it calculates how high of a mortgage and house price you can afford based on your inputs.
How I built it
I built it on Google Colab with help from the awesome Datathon Mentors
Challenges I ran into
I ran into several challenges, mostly springing from the fact that I have not done any Data Science before. My biggest challenge was learning how to import datasets, and a close second was learning how to use data from the datasets to actually calculate things.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Getting this finished and turned in.
What I learned
I learned a lot, both from the experience of coding for Data Science, and also from the workshops and helpful mentors.
What's next for Mortgage Affordability Calculator
Next, I hope to get the numbers working better and maybe include more inputs from the users to produce a more accurate output.
