Inspiration

This was my first hackathon, so coming here was pretty intimidating. My main intention was to work on a project that I’d genuinely enjoy, which is what inspired me. I’m passionate about design and graphics, so creating a website felt like the right direction. Not having prior coding experience was a bit daunting at first, but I think we chose the right project.

What it does

This website functions as a Dream Journal. Users can log their dreams, and upon submission, they’re redirected to the "Your Dreams" page. Here, they can visualize their dreams through AI-generated art; their dream descriptions serve as input to create unique visuals representing each dream. The more dreams they record, the richer their visual collection becomes. We believe that journaling is both therapeutic and enjoyable for many people. Additionally, we created a "Dream World" page where users can connect with others on the platform. Here, they can share dreams, view others' dreams, react, and leave comments. We also included privacy settings for users who want to journal privately without sharing with others.

How we built it

We primarily used Visual Studio Code to develop the project. We formatted all HTML pages and used CSS to style them.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest struggle was positioning elements precisely where we wanted them. At times, elements overlapped with others, which was frustrating.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a functioning website is an achievement in itself! There’s definitely still room for improvement, but as a prototype, I think this is amazing.

What we learned

I gained a lot of insight into web design and how websites are structured.

What's next for Morpheus - Explore Your Dreams

I really enjoyed building this project, and if I have the opportunity, I’d love to expand it. Connecting it to a large language model and developing it into a fully functional website (or even an app) would be incredible.
