Inspiration
My love for music and cyber security. I had to challenge myself to make a ctf which I have never done.
What it does
Challenges the hacker to think outside of computers and software. To think about how each hacker is unique and will implement their own interest/hobby to encrypt information
How we built it
I used ciphers, recorded audio provided by my cousin. I used online instruments, and a test subject to test out the flag
Challenges we ran into
A lot of revising the hints and the encrypted message. Bad audio with the attempt of a spectrogram. I had to revise what the hacker will look for about 5 times to make it easier for them to find. Lots of websites would give me the wrong output so I had to put spaces and or delete symbols so it would be fully encrypted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Managed to make a ctf in general. I had no idea it took a lot of effort, trial and error, and living testing to get something that actually works.
What we learned
I learned how to use a lot of new platforms such as audacity, online pianos, keeping an open mind that not everyone is musically inclined so we had to make a bit easy to use something that they would know, the UMBC alma mater
What's next for More than meets the eye . . . or ears
I will try to make the spectrogram and add many other parts to it but more on the software side as well.
Built With
- ciphers
