Inspiration

Back in high school, I was bullied. I felt different for various reasons. But one of them was that I didn't feel like I aligned with the "masculine" stereotype that many of my classmates were portraying (football, girls, hard language etc.). Today, I've learned to accept myself more for that, and so one day I decided to write a song about it. I wrote it, recorded it, and for fun tried creating an AI cover of it using SUNO. It got pretty alright, so I was inspired to create an AI music video for it. Also, midjourney's V1 video generator had just come out, and I really wanted to try using it. It was an emotional process for me, but very rewarding in the end, and everybody I've shown it to so far have been both impressed and some even touched by it.

How I made it

Simply generating images with midjourney V7, generating those into videos with V1, and then batching it all together and editing it as best as I could in CapCut. And the song as mentioned was a song I wrote and recorded myself, then created an AI cover of it within SUNO (giving it the lyrics and my recording, as well as style instructions)

Challenges I ran into

To be honest midjourney made it a pretty smooth process... So there weren't that many challenges besides making sure that the emotions portrayed in the videos were as close to how I wanted them as possible (many re-genereations).

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm really proud of the ending I managed to give the music video. I think it gave it a really nice touch, and clearly portrayed the message of self-acceptance. I'm also quite proud that I wrote the song myself...

What I learned

The number one thing I learned is that I need to upscale my images before generating them into videos... I managed to make it look alright in post production anyway, but this was definitely a big technical lesson for me. Also I learned that having a story board before you start even generating images will often be very helpful. I just basically went at it and let my creativity lead the way...
