Mora started because AI advice never really felt personal to me. I could ask good questions, but the answers always felt generic, like the AI didn’t actually understand who I was or what I cared about. It made me realize that advice is only useful if the system truly knows the person asking. That’s what pushed me to build something where the AI is grounded in the user, not just the prompt.
Mora is an AI life improvement app built around a personal digital twin. The twin represents the user, not a generic profile, which makes the guidance more accurate and relevant. Users can ask Mora about real decisions, talk through options, and get recommendations with clear reasoning.
Mora also lets users run life simulations to explore different paths and outcomes. Recently, we added a Dream Self feature where users define who they want to become, and Mora provides small daily actions to help close the gap over time.
We built Mora using React Native and RevenueCat (shoutout). Under the hood, we use a custom algorithm with LLM support to build each user’s digital twin in a way that feels accurate without being overwhelming.
The biggest challenge was clarity. “Digital twin” and “simulation” sound complex, so we had to simplify the language and design until it felt obvious. We also had to be careful not to make users feel punished for missing a day. Progress needed to feel encouraging, not stressful.
A big breakthrough for us was onboarding. We focused on asking the right questions instead of more questions, which helped us consistently generate high-quality twins while keeping drop-off low. The system we built updates guidance and time estimates based on what users actually do, so Mora builds a moat against other AI players as the user evolves.
We actually hit $350 in recurring revenue!
People already use AI for personal advice, but they don’t trust generic answers. They want something that feels like it actually knows them. We also learned that small, daily feedback loops work better than streaks or big goals.
Next, we’re focused on retention and making the simulations smarter. We’re also adding social features like leaderboards with friends to see who is achieving their dream self more consistently. Long term, Mora becomes a network of digital twins, where each person has their own AI version of themselves, and those twins can eventually interact, compare, and even communicate on their behalf to help people make better decisions across their lives.
