Inspiration
Inspired by Survivor, Alone, and sci-fi masterpieces like The Martian and The Expanse, Moonvival explores what happens when human survival meets artificial intelligence.
We wanted to push reality TV beyond Earth — to see if AI could not only generate a show but also co-direct human emotion, risk, and adaptation. The result is a format that blends science, storytelling, and social participation under a single lunar sky.
What it does
Moonvival – 100 Days. One Winner. No Second Chances.
The world’s first AI-generated lunar survival reality show. Six civilians must endure 100 days on the Moon’s most hostile frontier, each allowed to bring only one object from Earth. Every breath, repair, and decision matters.
The audience acts as Mission Control — sending virtual resources, voting on eliminations, and even reviving players after near-fatal crises.
Viewers can also monitor real-time vital signs (oxygen level, heart rate, energy) and environmental metrics (temperature, radiation, CO₂ levels) for each Lunar Pod through a live interactive HUD — turning observation into active participation.

How we built it
We combined AI narrative engines, procedural simulation tools, and real lunar topography data from NASA.
- Large language models generate dialogue, conflicts, and evolving personalities.
- Physics-based simulation recreates realistic lunar gravity, light cycles, and resource scarcity.
- Audience input is integrated through real-time APIs that convert digital “Photon” donations into actual in-game effects.
- Telemetry dashboards process player and pod data using simulated biometric sensors and environmental monitors, displayed in the Moon Pulse Live interface.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing realism and drama was a lunar-sized challenge. The Moon is silent, static, and deadly — not naturally cinematic.
We needed to make oxygen leaks, solar flares, and equipment malfunctions both scientifically plausible and emotionally gripping.
Creating believable AI-driven contestants also required tuning the balance between autonomy and narrative direction.
Integrating real-time data visualization for both human vitals and pod environments demanded high performance and narrative timing precision.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built the first interactive, AI-driven survival format where the audience truly matters. Every viewer becomes a life-support system for the players.
Moonvival merges science, simulation, and story into a single experience, proving that AI can act as a creative partner — not just a backend tool.
It’s a new form of entertainment: part mission, part social experiment, part meme factory.
The addition of live telemetry streams made audience empathy measurable — every heartbeat and air leak now fuels the collective story.
What we learned
AI can model not only the environment but also emotion, consequence, and collaboration.
We learned that humans still define meaning — while AI amplifies imagination.
We discovered that when narrative design meets real physics and data, the result feels more authentic than fiction.
What's next for MOONVIVAL
We’re developing Moonvival: The Expanse Protocol, an XR extension that lets viewers explore the lunar camp in real time and influence its events through blockchain-linked votes.
Our long-term goal is to expand Moonvival into the first AI-powered cinematic universe, where audiences co-create survival stories across planets, formats, and realities.
Because if the future of entertainment is hybrid — human + machine — then the Moon is just the beginning.
