Inspiration

Formalities have slowly become a thing of the past. The pandemic hasn't helped with this, no one asks how are you anymore- when you get a texts it's usually about someone needing something from you or wanting to talk about their own problems without any consideration to what you might need to talk about. Even in today's more accepting society, mental health isn't easy to talk about and people still misunderstand that how you feel isn't necessarily your choice.

What it does

Moody asks you how you feel and lets you journal about it. Keeping track of emotions and being able to see a weekly summary allows you to see if you were just having a bad day or if there might be more going on. By being able to journal, people are able to have records to take to a professional or show someone hey trust so they can get the support they need (keeping in mind journaling is usually a common suggestion by experts). This also allows the person to become aware of how often they are experiencing certain emotions.

How we built it

Figma

Challenges we ran into

Going solo means having to sit down and learn more about Figma and try to learn about how apps are brought to life- at this point in my coding journey I am limited to prototyping.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Last week I couldn't figure out how to make interactive buttons or any cool Figma features and this weekend I was able to create a decent prototype with buttons that work.

What we learned

Figma is very easy to use and has a very nice prototyping feature.

What's next for Moody

The next step is to try to create the back end to actually be able to support the functionalities through a database to store journal entries and allow for recall, as well as an api to display data trends.
