Inspiration

I was inspired by a common daily struggle: having a lot of clothes but still not knowing what to wear. I realized that the problem is not a lack of options, but the difficulty of matching outfits with how we feel. As students, I also noticed how much time and energy is wasted every day just deciding on an outfit. This led me to create a solution that simplifies the process while making it more personal and meaningful.

What it does

Moodrobe is a digital wardrobe app that helps users choose outfits based on their mood. Users can upload their clothes, organize them, and receive outfit recommendations tailored to how they feel each day. By combining mood-based input with a personalized wardrobe, Moodrobe makes daily outfit decisions faster, easier, and more expressive.

How we built it

We designed Moodrobe with a strong focus on user experience and simplicity. We started by creating a clean and intuitive UI/UX design that allows users to easily scan, organize, and browse their wardrobe. For the recommendation system, we simulated a basic logic that matches clothing categories and styles with different moods. We also added short explanations to make the experience feel more personalized and engaging.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was simplifying a complex idea into a clear and focused concept suitable for a hackathon. Initially, I had many features, which made it harder to present the core value. I also faced challenges in designing a system that feels “smart” while keeping the implementation realistic within a limited timeframe.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a concept that is both practical and relatable. Moodrobe addresses a real everyday problem in a simple yet meaningful way. We are also proud of our UI/UX design, which is clean, engaging, and user-friendly, making the app feel like a real product rather than just a concept.

What we learned

Through this project, I learned the importance of focusing on the core problem instead of adding too many features. I also learned how to design with the user’s perspective in mind, ensuring that every feature has a clear purpose and contributes to the overall experience.

What's next for Moodrobe: Digital Closet Sets With Your Mood

In the future, I plan to enhance Moodrobe by integrating advanced AI features, such as smarter outfit recommendations and better clothing recognition. Ultimately, I want Moodrobe to become a smart styling companion that helps users feel confident and express themselves every day.
